Project GreenAI is a national-level initiative that modernizes outdated agricultural practices through indigenously developed AI, UAV, and IoT technologies — approved in September 2021 by the Government of Pakistan under PSDP funding.
Project GreenAI was born from a singular conviction: that Pakistan's agricultural sector — responsible for 24% of GDP and the livelihood of millions — deserves the same precision and intelligence as the world's most advanced farming nations.
Headquartered at the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP-Alpha) in Rawalpindi, we bring together aerospace-grade telemetry, indigenous AI algorithms, and national cloud infrastructure to deliver measurable, real value to Pakistani farmers — from satellite crop health maps to on-farm drone spray operations.

Unlike off-the-shelf international solutions, GreenAI is built specifically for Pakistan's agro-climatic zones, soil profiles, and smallholder farming realities.
Designed and engineered locally within Pakistan to withstand regional climate variations, soil profiles, and smallholder farming constraints.
Supported by federal PSDP funding and steered under the Ministry of Defence, ensuring long-term institutional stability and sovereign data privacy.
Converting satellite imagery, IoT sensor feeds, and drone telemetry into turnkey field interventions — from variable-rate micro-spraying to automated irrigation.
Bridging government policy, academic research (NUST, AAUR, SAU), and industry commercialization into a single unified AgriVerse platform.
Three interconnected technological pillars form the backbone of Pakistan's first indigenous precision-agriculture platform.
Deploying Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAVs) equipped with multispectral imaging for automated crop health scanning, disease hotspot diagnostics, and precise micro-spraying.
Controlled-environment indoor smart cabins testing crop responses to tailored lighting spectrums and automated nutrient doses, serving as local R&D algorithmic testbeds.
Establishing a national high-performance agricultural data warehouse integrating GIS, satellite datasets, and IoT sensor arrays to supply localized diagnostic models.
Following the triple-helix model of innovation, various pilot projects were initiated in collaboration with local academia-industry partners. Over the years, a complete precision-agriculture infrastructure centered around the AgriVerse framework has been established — along with turnkey solutions like GreenCabins and SmartFarms, and interventions including bio-fertilizers and nano-pesticides.

The project is led by Dr. Liaqat Ali Khan, a veteran of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Under his leadership, a highly competitive team of agricultural scientists, AI/ML engineers, cloud administrators, UAV operators, and field agronomists work tirelessly to bring the latest agricultural solutions to ordinary Pakistani farmers.
Working in close cooperation with domestic public scientific bodies and specialized agritech institutions to implement and audit precision agriculture solutions.
